About this deal

Funimation Entertainment will release SteelBook editions of Dragon Ball Z Season 6 (1992-1993) and Dragon Ball Z Season 7 (1993-1994). But quite apart from the luxurious extras, you get a whopping 37 Blu-Ray discs featuring just shy of 300 episodes, comprising the complete original series. The aforementioned newscaster was redubbed by Joel McDonald in place of Christopher Sabat, the latter using a voice virtually identical to his performance as Grandpa Gohan. Also his incredibly high-pitched scream when used his Angry Explosion and the higher pitched scream effect he did when he got blow up by Majin Vegeta are removed.

They will still probably use the 30th anniversary transfers for a 35th anniversary which I hear that they are not even good. The outer case for the Blu-rays is very good with a silver Shenron on the front side - would've been excellent if it wrapped around the box in full. Here's my take: the video on the Blu-ray is better than all the other versions, although Kai came close. in addition to 3rd form Frieza's voice sound effect being completely and unintentionally removed from the Remastered releases.Contains Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming, Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly, Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, and Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon. Each successive volume was released six weeks after the previous volume, with the exception of the first volume.

I know it's not a perfect dub much like how it isn't a perfect product in of itself from a technical and production aspect (That's mostly on Toei's part of course) but between the original Z dub and Remastered and the former i'll take it every time. Unlike some of the following sets, this set does not feature any redubbing, except for one of Vegeta's lines during the Goku Vs. At times, I thought they were severely cropped as the top of the head was missing etc but looking at the original the head is cropped there too.

Lance Freeman wrote: ↑ Thu May 18, 2023 8:04 pmwhy are they going back to the 2013 masters after making such a huge fuss about the 30th anniversary sets being in 4:3? Contains Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone, Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest, Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might, Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, and Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge. I do wish we could've gotten them in their entirety, and they are considerably preferable to what we keep getting stuck with, but I can't see them becoming a "definitive" version with these kinds of problems.

I have no doubt there will be no difference between these repackages of the 2013/14 season sets other than the logo and copyright information being switched, much like the recent GT Complete Series set the discs will probably have the exact same art. As such, the pre-title card sequence in " The New Threat", introducing the series, is cut off if the Marathon Mode is chosen.

These releases are also notable for being the region 1 debut for the uncut versions of Dragon Ball Episodes 1-13, Dragon Ball Z Episodes 28-67, and Dragon Ball Movie 1. No disks were broken, scratched, or missing, so I embarked on a ten-day binge to check every episode for glitching. Goku - the strongest fighter on the planet - is all that stands between humanity and villains from the darkest corners of space.Seriously, i simply cannot bring myself to watch the latter two, because the first was awful and shows just how amatuer the FUNi cast was in the early 2000's while the second was them trying to make their stuff from a certain point seem less bad but it was an inconsistent, patch worked attempt with only marginal improvements. Minor changes were made to Christopher Neel's original script, sometimes replacing less-mature sounding dialog, and dialogue that may have sounded awkward in the original version. I got the GT complete set from a few months back and it's literally just the green brick discs in a new box, complete with 2009-era Funimation branding, so I suspect this is just going to be a repackaging of existing discs. There are some cool moments in the Cell and Buu arcs, but that second half of DBZ missed the epic closure the series could have had; heck, they miss another decent ending point again by bringing the Buu arc instead of ending it with Cell.
